How reviews work

Reviews on Celebrella come from real hosts. Here is exactly how.

Who can leave a review

Only a host who actually dealt with the vendor can review them:

  • a host who messaged the vendor through Celebrella (labeled Verified host · messaged on Celebrella), or
  • a client whose booking both sides confirmed on Celebrella, however they booked (by phone, text, social media or anywhere else): the client confirmed a booking the vendor sent them, or the vendor approved the client's request through the vendor's review link (labeled Verified booking · confirmed by client and vendor).

You need a free Celebrella account with a verified email address. Each host can review each vendor once, and can edit their review later. A vendor can never edit or delete a review.

When you can review

Reviews open the day after your event and stay open for 90 days. If your event date isn't clear from your conversation, reviews open 14 days after you first contacted the vendor. If the vendor approved your request through their review link, you can review until 12 months after your event. You don't have to have booked the vendor to review your experience; if you did, the review says so.

What we remove, and what we never remove

Reviews are published straight away. We only remove a review (or a vendor's reply) for one of these reasons, applied the same way to everyone:

  • Shares personal information
  • Defamatory (false statements of fact)
  • Explicit or sexual content
  • Hate, harassment or discrimination
  • Threats
  • Not about an experience with this vendor
  • Conflict of interest (written by the vendor, staff, family or a competitor)
  • Reasonable belief it is fake

We never remove a review because it is negative. A fair, honest review of a disappointing experience stays up. Reviews that mention things like phone numbers or email addresses are checked by our team before they appear. Every removal is recorded with its reason.

No paid or rewarded reviews

Nobody is paid or rewarded for a review on Celebrella. Vendors may ask their clients for a review, but they may not offer discounts, gifts or anything else in return, and they may not review themselves or their competitors. Family, staff and anyone with a conflict of interest should not review a vendor.

Vendor replies

A vendor can post one public reply under each review, for example to say thank you or to respond to a concern. Replies follow the same rules as reviews and never change the rating.

Booking confirmations

A vendor who was booked outside Celebrella can ask the client to confirm the booking. We email the client a link that works once, only for that email address, and expires after 30 days. The client signs in, says how they contacted the vendor, and confirms, or tells us they didn't book that vendor.

Every vendor also has a review link they can share anywhere. A past client opens it, signs in, and tells us when their event was (within the last 12 months) and how they booked. The vendor approves or declines each request; only approved clients can review. Vendors may only approve people they really worked with.

Ratings and Google

The star rating on a profile counts verified reviews only. Reviews posted before Celebrella began verifying reviewers are shown separately and are not counted. Once a vendor has 3 verified reviews, we share the rating with search engines, which may show it in search results.

Reporting a review

Signed in, tap Report under any review and choose a reason. Our team looks at every report. Reporting does not remove a review by itself. You can also email celebrella@celebrellali.com.
